The Verdigris Energy Network: Responsive Energy Intelligence at Scale

What if every building in the world could communicate in real time? What if they could work together to share energy to make the entire grid more efficient?

We could cut overall energy consumption. Make a massive impact on the carbon footprint of the built environment. Reduce the grid’s dependence on fossil fuels. All while ensuring the power infrastructure we rely on is more stable and secure.

In most endeavors to change the world, we are stronger together than we could ever be apart. The same is true for buildings.

At Verdigris, we’ve been helping individual buildings monitor their energy usage and find ways to save money for years. But we’ve always seen that work building to something bigger.

Which is why we’re excited to introduce the Verdigris Energy Network.

The Verdigris Energy Network operates as a virtual power plant, supplying flexible power back to the grid when it needs it most.

Here’s how it works: Verdigris automatically optimizes energy usage across our network of enrolled buildings in response to dynamic grid conditions, helping shed and shift loads without compromising building occupant comfort. The power the Verdigris Energy Network can supply is at a significantly lower levelized cost of energy (LCOE) than fossil fuels and lithium energy storage. With increased grid flexibility, more renewable resources like solar and wind can be deployed in the marketplace, and the grid would not need to ramp up as much fossil fuel energy during periods of peak demand.

For Verdigris customers already saving money with Adaptive Automation, this is an additional, risk-free value stream to turn on. It’s an easy way to do something good for the planet, without requiring any additional action from your facilities team.

We look forward to sharing more information about our strategy and progress over the coming months. In the meantime, you can join the waitlist to participate in the Verdigris Energy Network here.
